iOS To Android | Why I Made the Switch

Being the owner of a MacBook Pro and iPad Pro, switching from an iOS to Android smartphone may seem silly. I’m currently using an Android device, the Samsung Galaxy s9, as my smartphone of choice. So the question is, why did I switch from IOS to Android for my smartphone needs? In this video, I’m going to cover the factors that lead to this decision.

  1. I started using android in 2012 I loved it
I got the S2, S6, S7, S7 Edge and S8 plus and later the S10+. I loved it. HOWEVER, the new S20 series arrived and I was really looking forward and bought the S20 Ultra..the phone looked amazing but the day I used it it overheated and turned itself suddenly off and I was really annoyed and disappointed so I said well let's use it a couple days and if the problem is not solved until then I will send it to samsung to see whats wrong with the phone.

Then corona started and I could not send it and I was left with this expensive phone which overheated without any reason and turned itself off all the time..

2 weeks later I started to see some ads on the Iphone 11 Pro Max I really liked the green one and bought one online for around 1000€ it was a good one with 256 GB..It was hard to get used to it but it was very smooth fast great camera and stlyle but I feld kinda trapped – I was so used to do anything with my phone like edit and move apps etc but with the iphone I could not even download music without problems – I always had to log in to do stuff and constant messages for icloud really annoyed me..Finally corona restrictions were over and I sent the S20 ultra to samsung and they said that there is nothing wrong and I should use it without the sd card and I worked wonders –

I sold my Iphone 11 pro max and started to use my S20 ultra..I am so glad that I bought this one it is AMAZING.

Don't get me wrong the Iphone is great too but I felt so limited and kinda trapped inside it

  2. My story reflects yours. I had every iPhone up to and including the iPhone 7, like you something clicked. I felt I was being ripped off, designs weren't changing, all they spoke about was the bionic chips etc. I bought the Galaxy 8 and loved the freedom that android gave me. I was Apple through and through, had everything Apple, now I have all Galaxy, S20 ultra, tablet and watch and no going back to Apple for me

  3. I’m a simple man who needs a simple phone. Any phone running Android is not simple. If I want to do all that extra shit im going to grab a computer my phone is my phone not an computer. Yes it’s Capable. But it’s a PHONE. PERIOD. Android os. Doing too much for no reason. Too overwhelming and for what….. oh I know why lol. Honestly I’ll still use a Obama phone. I’m jus privileged with a job.

  4. How do you feel now since this video? Do you keep your words? Honestly, I specially feel really identified with your video since I was an Apple fan too till iPhone6. From an Android+Samsung lover, I'd love to hear your thoughts now. Tbh, S10+ is still a masterpiece, but S20 big square, I mean… I can't, and specially for headphone jack lack this year… why?

  5. Nice Review! Just bought an Android Phone, Huawei Y6S. I was using 5s before, my mom gave it to me in 2016 until 2019. It was a good serve for me, and I think of trying android because i tried samsung before but I lost it, its also more cheaper and worth it the battery took longer for me to charge. So, I decided to leave from Team iPhone to Team Android! ❤️ Love it.

  6. what made me switch was my dad's note8. I had an iPhone 7 at the time, but i thought Android was interesting. My dad eventually gave me the note8 (he switched to the iPhone X) because I was the only one in my family that was up to the challenge of using Android after his work didn't want him to use an Android. I loved using and customizing it after I got the phone in my hands.

2 years later, I have a samsung ecosystem. I even replaced my iPad mini2 (a tablet I had since I was 10) last year with the Galaxy Tab A with s-pen (SM-P200), and now I can say that I'm apple-free (but not for long – im thinking about getting the airpods pro)

  7. It's not that different from IOS, it just has more options to customise your phone and yes it takes a little while to get used to finding them and be able to change them. But the basic stuff is very similar to an IOS and in many ways much better. Only disadvantage is that on the IOS you got only notes that were important, like whatsapp or msgs. With Android you get apps sending you notes all the time which I don't like cause it makes me constantly check my phone if I miss something important, just to see it was a useless note that was send to me. But I guess going deeper in you can control what app sends you notes and what not.

  8. Thao, I am with you! I have always loved Apple. I have the iPad 7th gen, the xs but honestly I have grown so tired of the same face of Apple. Every new model ,besides some hardware changes, looks exactly the same to where I’m just burned out on them. I love the ability to customize my phone to my tastes and loves. So, wish me luck I’m gonna make the leap to Android!?‍♂️
