In this video we take a brief look at Health Promotion, the process of enabling people to increase control over, and to improve their health. Health promotion is a very important part of public health and an essential component in any public health program. We’ll also have a look at some key concepts and the Ottawa Charter – a landmark document that has been influential in providing guidance to the goals and concepts of health promotion.

  2. Can you help me with this example so that I can understand more …. Mr. Robert 43 years old school teacher married and have 3 children, living in a small town, he is overweight, diabetic, heavy smoker, and he is not practicing exercises, and not sticking to dietary principles. Robert has history of shortness of breath, and sometimes does not take his medications ,, How can help him to promote health and wellness and restore health ??

  3. Just to help out: Health is not defined as the absence of disease or INFIRMARY, but the absence of disease or INFIRMITY. Infirmary is a hospital, infirmity is the state of physical or mental weakness. Just used the wrong word.
