Happy memories playing this for hours with my dad. He was hopeless and I used to hammer him every game, but it's only now that he's gone that I understand he just enjoyed spending time with me.
Only Benfica had 4 star players. >D
Sensible soccer on the Amega can’t be beaten for game play. It’s been a long time since you can play games. Today u only get to watch them.
Today’s football games are made for 5 year olds. You can mash all the buttons at the same time with ur ham fist and the game just plays itself.

Sierra Soccer gameplay was better, but less marketing and features.

What excited me the most about Sensible World Of Soccer was the career mode. The fact that you can choose so many different teams from all over the globe. It's like being on a trip around the whole world, exploring the colours of every team, the player names, their strengths and weaknesses depending on your tactics, and eventually (in case of winning some trophies) being recruited as a national coach wherever you want it to be. Iceland, India, Japan, Taiwan, Luxembourg, Australia…

Yeah I remember this on PC. It was very interesting and addictive footbal. It was hard to hold the ball I think. And i remember i loved that you could create your own team and choose the look of your jersey. This option was fantastic at the time, I was about ten years old when I was playing:D
Kick Off 2 was better.
If it would be slower about 10-15% would be ace. Too fast to be real. But it was fun. Lots of things going under the hood, it's not so simple as you think it might be. This is ace programming at the time.

Does anyone know what the chant is that sounds like "Hors d'oeuvres! clap-clap-clap! Hors d'oeuvres! clap-clap-clap!" ? I've always wondered about that back in the Amiga days.
sensible soccer was light years ahead of the competition, this game had editable player database, you could alter statistics alter names alter everything, had no official licence for all the literally dozens of leagues from around the world it had in it but it didn't matter, you could just edit the teams yourself and never have to buy a new version ever 6 months to have up to date data… ground breaking stuff… and on top of that it was just insanely fun to play, was a hundred miles an hour stuff lol

I love the cheering crowd in this game. One of my favorite!
I played a lot of sensi but I definitely preferred Kick Off 2. I could never put my finger on exactly why but it just felt better to play. Sensi was still a great game though.
